Samenwerking Infectieziekten
Samenwerking Infectieziekent (The Infectious Diseases Collaboration) brings together healthcare professionals, patients and policymakers. They work together to prevent, detect and treat infectious diseases, and to increase knowledge and awareness about this growing health problem.
The challenge
Infectious diseases caused by bacteria, viruses, fungi or parasites form an increasingly significant challenge. New pathogens are emerging, and increasing resistance means that antibiotics and other anti-infective treatments are less effective. Particularly for people in fragile health.
Our support
- Immunis Foundation provided support during the preparatory phase, in which healthcare professionals explored whether and how they could work together to combat antimicrobial resistance. This initial phase, conducted by Erasmus MC Foundation in cooperation with Samenwerkende Gezondheidsfondsen (the Collaborating Health Funds), led to the establishment of Samenwerking Infectieziekten (the Infectious Diseases Collaboration joint initiative).
- We support the work of Samenwerking Infectieziekten, in particular the organizational and start-up costs and the establishment of a campaign to raise awareness. With the aim of protecting society against infection and improving appropriate care.
